BE A MEMBER 

PALELES membership includes the following tenets as stated in ARTICLE II: MEMBERSHIP of the Constitution and By-Laws of PALELES.

Section A: Eligibility for Membership

The membership of the society shall be required and open to all who are:

  1. graduate students of the university taking master’s program in English Language Teaching (ELT), and doctorate programs in Applied Linguistics (AppLing), and English Language Education (ELE);

  2. graduate students who are presently enrolled during any term in a current academic year of the university;

  3. graduate students that have direct and/or indirect experience in Applied Linguistics, English Language Education.

 

Section B: Fees and Dues

  1. The members of society shall pay a fee of P200 for membership.

  2. The membership for the society is valid for one year starting from the day of payment of membership fee until the same day of the next year.

  3. Membership renewal can be made after the previous membership.

 

Section C: Duties

  1. The members of the society shall participate in all activities such as but not limited to regular and/or special programs such graduate forum, extension activities, national and international seminar/workshops, national and international conferences directed or co-organized by the society with other professional organizations such as Linguistic Society of the Philippines (LSP), Philippine Association of Language Teaching (PALT), etc.

  2. Each member of the society shall earn points in case prescribed by the College of Graduate Studies and Teacher Education Research (CGSTER) for any academic purposes.

  3. The members shall submit proofs of participation to the College of Graduate Studies and Teacher Education Research (CGSTER) whenever necessary for any academic purposes.

 

Section D: Charter Members

  1. The originally elected/founding officers of the society shall be classified as Charter Members whose names and signatories are affixed in the original Constitution and By-laws and other legitimate papers of the society;

  2. An officer shall be granted of charter membership status if and only if he/she was able to finish with apt performance of duties his/her term of service of two years.

  3. The Charter Members shall be serving as consultants of the PNU APPLIED LINGUISTICS AND ENGLISH LANGUAGE EDUCATION SOCIETY in terms of all of the activities of the society;

  4. The Charter Members shall be given provisions that the regular graduate student members of the society are given.
